WHAT: To mark the first ever Dependence Day, a diverse coalition of environmentalists, labor unions, and consumer groups will hold a press event to outline the threats of America’s dependence on oil and the pressing need for real solutions. Dependence Day marks the actual day when the U.S. effectively runs out of domestic oil and is forced to rely on foreign imports for the remainder of the year. At a time when Americans are searching for solutions to our dependence on oil, the event will feature a 100+ mpg plug-in hybrid.
